Travel Guide: Best Things to Do + See, Where to Eat + Drink, + Where to Stay in Foxwoods, CT Now

As soon as you start winding around these New England country roads you'll be taken back by two striking contemporary towers in the middle of Connecticut's vast woodlands. One's a bit taller than the other and that's where we're headed.

Leave your car to the valet and step inside the massive multi-floor lobby of Fox Tower—a 30 floor dream come true.

Sure, the 29th floor suite was ready, but first things first: The Fox Tower Pool

Endless rows of chaise loungers and private cabanas await you.

Screwdrivers with a smile. You've won our hearts. Time to head to the top floor.

Up on the 29th floor, you'll open the double entry doors to a spacious foyer with half bath, unto open concept living and dining areas, a full bar and separate wing with private master bedroom and bathroom.

Welcome to Foxwood's Presidential Suite. Floor to ceiling windows encase the penthouse unit with endless panoramic views of the surrounding pristine forest.

It was time to take a walk through Foxwoods before heading to dinner.

As the largest resort casino in North America, the world is at your fingertips from gaming to fine dining and everything else in between—such as world class luxury shopping.

Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the casino and entertainment action below,  VUE 24 is perched upon—you guessed it—the 24th floor of Foxwoods Resort Casino's Grand Pequot Tower. This 4-diamond gem may seem relatively hidden away, but make no mistake, VUE 24 will take both your palate and senses on quite the culinary journey. Starting with the view.

Overlooking vast Connecticut woodlands, dazzling sunset comes easy like Sunday morning. Speaking of easy like Sunday morning, be sure to check out VUE 24's lavish "Sky Brunch." Master mixologist, Stephen Armitage, concocts everything from the ordinary to the extraordinary. In this case, the "Peach Cobbler" came highly recommended. And we'll tell you why—because it's absolutely delicious.

At the helm of your culinary excursion ahead, is Chef de Cuisine, Michael Yaffe, formerly of Eiffel Tower Las Vegas.

Paving the way dinner was a seasonal favorite, Pan-Seared Foie Gras, over tantalizing strawberry rhubarb coulis.

As an entree: Filet Oscar. The longstanding epitome of any high-end steakhouse's menu, it was a match made in heaven at first thought. Jumbo lump crab meat drizzled with tarragon-heavy béarnaise and shaved asparagus, sits atop a prime cut of beef tenderloin—served very rare of course.

While other guest's evenings were just getting started, we had a different idea and that meant rest in order to be (happily) ready for a sunset hike.

In order to catch a spectacular sunrise (works very well with the dazzling sunset mentioned during dinner at VUE 24), take the Lantern Trail 500 feet above sea level to enjoy views that stretch as far as the waters of Block Island Sound.

After settling back into the suite, there was a little time left to enjoy some coffee while curled up in the master bedroom before breakfast room service.

After room service arrived, the problem wasn't with the food ordered, it was where to eat.

We started off in the dining room.

And then got more comfortable in the living room. This isn't turning into a Shaggy song, I promise.

And that's when we found ourselves singing the Foxwoods "Wonder of it All" theme song in our heads, "Take a chance, make it happen, pop the cork, fingers snapping." Meet me at Foxwoods.
