First Look: Casa Monti Rome, a Celebration of La Dolce Vita in the Italian Capital
The brand-new Casa Monti in Rome celebrates creativity and Italian lifestyle in Monti, the city's historic creative district. The hotel reflects Rome's charm and is near major attractions but away from busy tourist spots, making it a gem for artisans and visitors alike. At any hour, Casa Monti envelops guests into the lifestyle of an artist and the essence of quintessential Roman dolce vita.
The luxurious boutique hotel has 26 rooms and 10 suites with a strong artistic influence inspired by the Monti district and Italian lifestyle. The interiors were designed by Laura Gonzales and reflect a relaxed and elegant Italian vibe, using high-quality materials, precise colors, and unique prints to create a carefree atmosphere.
Each detail showcases the district's creativity, featuring antiques, Italian artisanship, and commissioned artworks. With her colorful style, Gonzales creates a personal and thoughtfully designed space that captures the essence of an artist's life.
This grand, artistic abode boasts multiple spaces to accommodate the ebb and flow of both locals and seasoned tourists alike. The property’s Casa Monti Ristorante is built against the historic façade and opens onto a terrace before extending indoors. There, it sits alongside a lively patio with a fountain and a few tables where one can sample authentic Roman recipes, curated in sync with the venerable Monti farmers market.
Further back, Casa Monti Bar welcomes guests into a creative space filled with a neutral blend of browns and creams, complemented by a travertine tile floor in an embellished Italian grid pattern. Moving upstairs, one can reach Casa Monti Rooftop to sip cocktails beneath the sun’s golden glow. The chic rooftop bar specializes in delectable cocktails and is aptly decorated in shades of sky blue, providing a unique vantage point with stunning views of the surrounding parks and quintessential pine trees in the city.
Located on the 5th floor, sits the property’s one of-a-kind spa, designed to renew the spirits of Roman baths.
Bathed in the golden light that is characteristic of Rome, the city’s first and only Susanne Kaufmann spa offers the rare privilege of an expansive panorama of the capital from its terrace and features a cozy jacuzzi to unwind in after a long day of walking the city’s bustling streets.
