Tell us about what your morning routine looks like, and how you like to end your day?

Mornings for me start early. I like to keep it simple — a cold shower, some journaling, and a workout to set my intention for the day. I usually review our schedule across all cities we serve and check in with my team. At night, I wind down with a walk or reading — usually something business-related or self-improvement. That’s my reset before another high-energy day.

Do you have any awards or achievements you’d like to mention?

I’m proud to say my company, Rockstar Hibachi, has been featured at events hosted by Fortune 500 companies and professional sports teams like the Dallas Cowboys and Phoenix Suns. We’ve earned over 5,000 five-star reviews across the U.S. and built a multi-million dollar catering empire that started with one grill.

Do you have a favorite chef that you look up to and what advice would you give to aspiring chefs?

I’ve always admired Jiro Ono for his discipline and mastery. But honestly, some of the most impressive chefs I’ve met are in my own kitchen. My advice to any aspiring chef: master the basics, treat your ingredients with respect, and never stop putting on a show — food is entertainment.

What do you typically cook at home? 

At home, I keep it clean and high-protein. I love making garlic salmon with a side of veggies and jasmine rice. Simple, clean, and fuel for the grind.

What’s a food trend that you’re loving right now and why?

I’m loving the rise of high-protein comfort food — think gourmet taste with macros in mind. That’s something I’m bringing to life with our new fast-casual restaurant concept, where healthy meets fire.

What’s the strangest food combination you’ve ever tried? And, did you like it?

Peanut butter on a burger. Sounds crazy, but it was actually insane in the best way. The creamy, salty punch added a wild layer that just worked.

What drink do you enjoy most?

Sparkling water or sake. Depending on the time of day and the mood — sometimes both at the same event.

Have you ever cooked for a celebrity? Do you have a story to tell?

Yes — we’ve served plenty. One fun moment was cooking for the cast of a Netflix show. They were so hyped by the fire show, one of them tried to mimic our chef’s tricks. Let’s just say we stepped in before the lighter fluid did.
