Tell us about what your morning routine looks like, and how you like to end your day?
We start our day off getting the kids up and off to school. 4 out of 6 of them live at home so it takes some effort. At the end of the day when everything has been completed, we like to play Just Dance as a family or watch Nuke's Top 5 with the older girls.
Finally we finish our day watching our shows and spending time with each other.
Do you have any awards or achievements you’d like to mention?
We have won Best Burger in Casper for 2 years straight (2023-2024), and we won the Booze and Bacon Festival - Best In Bacon 2021, and now Best in the State with 5 Reasons to Visit.
Do you have a favorite chef that you look up to and what advice would you give to aspiring chefs?
We don't really have a favorite chef, but both Trevor and I learned to cook from our mothers. Nothing quite compares to what they cook and we still ask them for advice often.
Sarah: This industry takes a lot from you. People will tear you down and some days you will want to quit. But when you win your first award, or hearing people talking about you in public, you will feel the worth in your perseverance. These small victories have been our biggest successes.
Trevor: Cooking is both art and science. You have to experiment and express yourself through it. So with that, don't ever get complacent with what you create. I believe that trying new things and expanding your knowledge are the key ingredients to keeping the love in your food.
What do you typically cook at home for yourself or your family?
Since we have so many people, we have to cook for an army. We often cook burritos, sandwiches, salmon, or hamburger mac' n cheese because everyone eats them. We still love to marinate and cook a good steak, or put together a delicious meatloaf on occasion.
What’s a food trend that you’re loving right now and why?
We love the importance of hot sauce everywhere. We have created our very own and may be a little biased, but it's the best we've ever had.
What’s that strangest food combination you’ve ever tried? And, did you like it?
Putting peanut butter and jelly on a burger. We loved it so much that we put it on our menu. We make our own peach jelly that tastes like a peach cobbler.
What cocktail or beverage do you enjoy most?
We drink a lot of water and a fair amount of coffee, but Sarah enjoys a nice glass of Chardonnay and I prefer Irish Whiskey with Sprite.
Have you ever cooked for a celebrity? Do you have a story to tell?
Sam Jones (Ted & Flash Gordon). Sam was the celebrity for the Casper Comic Con a few years ago. We had our food truck posted outside. A bunch of our crew went up to his booth to get his autograph and a picture. He asked us to please bring him some food, so of course we did. The next day as he was frantically trying to get out of there to catch his plane, we wanted to know how the food was. He said "It took me nearly 4 hours to even get to it, but even hours later it was AMAZING!! I need one that I can eat fresh on the way to the airport." We made him another and sent him on his way. He had a great sense of humor.
