Tell us about what your morning routine looks like, and how you like to end your day?

I like to start and end my day similarly. I like to spend time with my 1-year-old daughter and my 13-year-old German Shepard. Whether we are trying new food or reading a favorite book together.

Do you have any awards or achievements you’ve earned?

Utopia has one best Greek restaurant 4 years in a row by surveys of America (we are Mediterranean), and we were offered America's best restaurant in 2023.

Do you have a favorite chef? What advice would you give to aspiring chefs?

Jamie Oliver, he has a similar passion for farm-to-table and fresh ingredients. Keep exploring, try new things. There is always something to learn.

What do you typically cook at home?

I tend to prepare a variety of Asian cuisine at home, from Pho, Pad Thai, Som Tum (papaya salad), to a laid-back sushi night.

What’s a food trend that you’re loving right now?

People are reverting to fresh and local ingredients rather than processed food.

What’s the strangest food combination you’ve ever tried? And, did you like it?

My little cousin dipped her chocolate chip cookie in her nacho cheese and popped it in my mouth to my surprise. It wasn't the worst thing, but I wouldn't go out of my way to try her creation again.

Tell readers why they should visit Utopia?

Utopia is a farm to table scratch restaurant. We grow most of our own herbs and vegetables. I take allergies very seriously and we cater to our guests as if they were part of our family. When you eat good you feel good, you feel good you look good. I have an open kitchen which allows me to prepare meals and chat with our guests.
