Tell us about what your morning routine looks like, and how you like to end your day?
I usually wake up at 8:00 am and head to the gym. After the gym I will check the stock market. Then I head to work.
Do you have any awards or achievements you’d like to mention?
I was featured on our local TV channel, KAKE TV, and contributed to our local chef cookbook. My first restaurant, Yokohama Ramen Joint, was also featured in Food Network Magazine.
Do you have a favorite chef that you look up to and what advice would you give to aspiring chefs?
My favorite chef is Anthony Bourdain. I believe that to be a good chef, people need to take the time to learn about and understand other cuisines and their cultural significance.
What do you typically cook at home for yourself or your family?
I typically make different variations of bone broth soups and fresh salads.
What’s a food trend that you’re loving right now and why?
Dumplings and noodle dishes. They’re easy to find in almost any country, and I love how every culture puts its own unique twist on them.
What’s the strangest food combination you’ve ever tried? And, did you like it?
I’ve tried stinky tofu, a Taiwanese dish. I didn’t like it. It tasted like spoiled fish to me.
What cocktail or beverage do you enjoy most?
Martini’s and cold press juices.
