Along Lake Como's picture-perfect shoreline of majestic villas and Italian gardens, EDITION has revitalized a hotel first built in 1830 with a refined design

Located on the western shore of Lake Como in the charming town of Cadenabbia, the hotel offers breathtaking views of the Bellagio promontory across the shimmering waters, where lush Mediterranean vegetation meets majestic snow-capped mountains. A striking addition to the timeless allure of Lake Como, EDITION brings a contemporary twist to the classic Italian tradition of villeggiatura — the art of prolonged, leisurely retreats in the countryside or by the lake, a custom that has long attracted aristocrats, intellectuals, and celebrities seeking fresh air and the beauty of nature on these iconic shores.

For a tranquil retreat overlooking the breathtaking beauty of Lake Como, the hotel boasts 148 elegantly appointed rooms, including twenty-five suites and two exquisite penthouses nestled within the Villa Gina, which houses nine guestrooms. Accents include a bespoke white Calacatta marble coffee table and a gracefully curved sofa by Neri & Hu. Every room is distinguished by archways and baseboards clad in Calacatta Turquoise marble, while the bathrooms showcase Calacatta Gold Stone marble complemented by fluted glass doors set in polished brass frames. All lakeside rooms enjoy the charm of original, meticulously restored French balconies.

The Italian elegance is captured by the striking cantilevered teak wood entrance, framed by a lush vertical garden that spills over with wisteria, clematis, and climbing roses. Inside, gleaming white Palomba stone terrazzo floors and Palomba stone borders encircle a sculptural marble staircase, paying homage to the renowned Italian architect and designer Carlo Scarpa, whose sensitive use of materials inspires the public spaces.

A serene reflection pool and fountain highlight the polished brass elevator bank. From the entrance, expansive communal areas stretch out in both directions, starting with the signature restaurant by three-Michelin-star and green-star chef Mauro Colagreco. Its spacious jardin d’hiver terrace offers stunning views of the lake. The walls, adorned in a deep rose-colored Dolomite plaster, are decorated with tapestries, antique mirrors, and Modern-era artworks, creating a harmonious blend of artistry and warmth.

From the Lobby Bar with waterfront seating perfect for coffee or an aperitivo, to the signature restaurants and bars, The Lake Como EDITION showcases an array of distinctive dining experiences led by acclaimed Italian-heritage chef Mauro Colagreco. Marking his first venture in Italy, the three-Michelin-starred chef of Mirazur in Menton, France, brings his nature-inspired philosophy to four unique culinary concepts. Each venue presents a different expression of his vision, exploring his Italian roots through a modern reinterpretation of traditional flavors. The hotel’s signature restaurant, Cetino, delivers an elevated approach to contemporary gastronomy, where culinary artistry captures the pure essence of every ingredient.

Renzo, the all-day dining venue featuring a panoramic terrace with stunning lake views, radiates the warmth of Italian hospitality. Drawing inspiration from Chef Colagreco’s beloved family gatherings, the menu offers a contemporary reinterpretation of classic recipes, designed for spirited dining and the pleasure of sharing.

By the poolside, a fresh and enticing variety of seafood-centric dishes captures the laid-back essence of Mediterranean leisure, providing a relaxed atmosphere for both locals and hotel guests to enjoy.

Guests arriving by boat are welcomed at a private dock, while the hotel’s own boat fleet provides picturesque lake tours and transportation to various waterfront destinations. Additionally, Lake Como’s ferry service stops at a dock just outside the hotel, offering convenient access to multiple lakeside towns. Directly in front of the hotel lies EDITION’s floating pool on the lake, set against the vast backdrop of Como’s waters. This unique feature includes a restaurant and lounge bar on the dock, complemented by cabanas and lounge chairs, perfect for enjoying warm days in serene comfort.
