Sometimes life just comes easy in Tennessee. A fit for the whole family. A place you know that still surprises you with every visit. Theme parks and national parks. Big adventure, hidden gems, great times and plenty of elbow room. With an authentic downtown filled with public art, Sevierville is also the hometown of Dolly Parton.

The excitement starts long before you get in the car. It starts the second you explore this article. The instant you hop in the car. When getting there is part of the fun, you're headed to Sevierville. These are the top five reasons why Sevierville, Tennessee should be on your bucket list.

1. THE CUISINE & COCKTAILS

The Appalachian and The Pines in the heart of downtown Sevierville have both become the talk-of-the-town within the Smoky Mountain region. The Appalachian offers a contemporary, Southern Appalachian dining experience by presenting the greatest reflection and flavors of this amazing region—while The Pines provides an atmosphere of gaming, lounging and competition. You, your friends, and family can enjoy indulging in great fun, food, cocktails, conversation, and overall entertainment! For your artisanal cocktail fix at The Pines, we recommend trying the Stardust—concocted with Tanqueray Gin, smoked blood orange juice, sage, simple syrup, and lime. Back over at The Appalachian you’ll sip on the Mountain Laurel with blueberry juice, PostModern Elderberry gin, fresh-squeezed lime, lavender simple syrup, and Seedlip Garden.

Executive Chef David Rule wanted to pay homage to the region as his experiences in various kitchens across East Tennessee influenced his vision for The Appalachian and The Pines. Partnering with local farms to be able to offer a true farm-to-table experience and fresh ingredients on every plate, favorite dishes at The Pines include Archie's Sandwich Sliders on a Hawaiian roll with ham, gruyere, pickles, and brown sugar dijon sauce, Tex' Black Bean Dip with lime crema, cilantro and poblano pepper—as well as Trotter's Whole Hog Quesadilla with pulled pork, Trotter’s sauce, cheese melt, pico, and crema. Over at The Appalachian elevated dishes include Buffalo Frog Legs prepared with Benton’s ranch, bleu cheese and celery are a must, including Duck Breast with E. T. fungi, grapes, shallots, Old Mill grits, and mushroom jus—as well as Rainbow Trout with local greens, pickled red onion, gremolata, spiced pecans, grilled fennel, and poached apples.

For a sweet finale enjoy one of many decadent desserts such as Goat Cheese Cheesecake with blackberry glaze and honey pistachio crust at The Appalachian, as well as Marquee Beignets with powdered sugar or buttermilk glaze at The Pines. Hungry yet?

2. THE ART

Historic downtown Sevierville, Tennessee is sporting a new look and some of its most eye-catching treasures are public works of art. Sevierville’s best-known public artwork is the bronze statue of Dolly Parton, which has graced the Sevier County Courthouse lawn for more than 30 years.
