5. THE BEACH
Island Beach, located 2 miles from Greenwich Harbor, is on Little Captain’s Island. The secluded island is believed to have been named after Captain Daniel Patrick, who was a pre-Revolutionary War commander. In the early 1900s, Island Beach had an amusement park which featured a merry-go-round, shooting gallery, booth games, goldfish tank, dance hall and restaurant.
