The 4.5-mile paved multi-purpose trail around the lake is the most popular and horseback riding is allowed on designated Equestrian Trails.

2. THE ART

Tying it all together in beauty and harmony, Downtown Chandler is a hub for public art and many pieces are located on street corners. 3. THE COCKTAILS

Tryst Cafe focuses on organic, natural cuisine and cocktails, while striving to source their ingredients locally. We recommend trying the Peach Cobbler Martini for your artisanal cocktail fix—concocted with peach whiskey, peach purée and topped fresh whipped cream.

Whether stopping in for a power breakfast, alfresco lunch or an intimate dinner, the extensive gluten free menu and vegan options are always unique and flavorful. Favorites include Roasted Curry Cauliflower over chickpeas, simmered in a creamy coconut curry and the Asian Jackfruit Bowl tossed in a peanut sauce with warm quinoa.

First impressions are everything, but the flavors will keep you coming back for more. For those craving something sweet, end your experience with their Homemade Crème Brûlée. Hungry yet?

4. THE GARDENS

Designed by landscape architect Dennis Peltz, the Hummingbird Habitat at Desert Breeze Park features over fifty varieties of water-efficient native and desert plants that attract hummingbirds, butterflies and other wildlife in a shady and inviting garden. By walking the paths, you'll see plants at their mature size, find examples of plant combinations and discover ideas for your own landscaping.

One of the first things you will notice when entering the garden are the two large iron sculptures by artist Joe Tyler. One piece is an archway with a hummingbird collecting nectar from a flower and the other is a large tree that serves as a shade structure to the surrounding seating area. These sculptures were selected by the Chandler Arts Commission.

5. THE ARCHITECTURE

The circa 1938 McCullough–Price House was built in the pueblo revival style, as a winter residence for William D. McCullough. It was acquired by Arthur and Louise Price in 1950—Louise Price was the niece of Dr. A. J. Chandler, who founded the city named after him.
